AfroTechXcel teaches African girls and women to build with AI in their own languages, classrooms and communities. Then we ask them to prove it: assessed work every week, and tools that real people use.
AI is arriving. Rarely in her language, and rarely for her classroom.
In the public schools where we teach, one teacher often leads 70 to 100 students. Devices are shared. Data costs money. Most AI learning materials assume English, a personal laptop, and a steady connection. A girl can sit through that lesson and still conclude that technology belongs to someone else. We design against that conclusion.
